Marriage saves tax dollars

Here's an interesting news item that shows why morality is a political issue - even if you're a complete secularist: Divorce, Unwed Parenting Costing Taxpayers

I think that the study's sponsors miss the point, however. The solution isn't to create government programs that "bolster marriage" (whatever that means). The solution is for us all to recognize, accept, and agree to live by some basic principles (e.g. one man one woman for life) - and to expect our elected officials to do the same. Let's face it, "traditional judeo-christian values" work. They just work.

Tragically, if things don't change, in about ten years there will be sufficient data for someone to calculate the cost of having children raised by same-sex couples. Of course, by that time the LGBTPE advocates may have enough power to prevent anyone from even suggesting such a study. (If they could have their way, they would prevent anyone from even *thinking* it.)
